Neversin is a small hobby kennel - so small that there is no actual kennel, and all the dogs live in the house with me.
I am Kay Schmidt, and I have always been in love with dogs and have an admiration for many different breeds. At various times in my life I have been owned by Beagles, Boxers, German Short Haired Pointers and the odd Heinz 99. As a family my parents believed in owning pure bred dogs, not always registered but pure bred, so our 'nanny' was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever who watched over us and swam with us in dugouts. We have old holiday photographs taken in front of the Christmas tree with the whole family, including Duchess our Dalmatian. Because of my upbringing in such a family, a love of pure bred dogs was instilled from a young age.
For many years I was absent as an exhibitor from the show ring and I was only able to be there as a spectator while I raised my son as a single parent. When the appropriate time came I finally went looking for a dog that was on the small side, had some coat, and wanted to be with me rather than wandering off following its nose as the Beagles would. My sister, who owns and operates a Boarding/Grooming kennel, suggested a Corgi as she had a delightful female 'Corky the Corgi' who came in for boarding whenever her owners were out of town. After doing some research I put my name on a breeders list and after a lengthy wait my first Pembroke Welsh Corgi graced my home. But as everyone who has fallen in love with the breed knows, one Corgi is never enough...
I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Association (Alberta section) and fully adhere to their Codes of Ethics.
